Hair extensions cost in Bathgate: what's included in the price

What hair extensions cost in Bathgate with Slavic Remy hair included, what sets the total, how long the fitting takes and what I charge separately.

Hair extensions in Bathgate — bronde with highlights after the fitting

If you ring a salon and ask what hair extensions cost, you often get one number and no idea what it covers. At Hair Majesty in Bathgate a fitting starts from £200, and the top of the price list (24 inches, 200 g) starts from £850 — the hair is included in every one of those prices. Here I explain what moves the total up or down, how long you will spend in the chair and which services I charge for separately, so you know what you are booking before your first visit.

What's included: the hair, not just the fitting

Most salons quote the fitting on its own and add the hair on top. I do it the other way round. Every figure on my hair extensions price list includes Slavic Russian Human Remy hair that lasts up to two years. You choose the method, the length and the weight, and the figure on the list already covers the strands. Nothing is added on for the hair.

So when you compare quotes, ask for the full amount: fitting plus hair. A low "from" price without the hair can end up dearer than a price with the hair included once everything is added on.

Hair extensions cost: what decides the final figure

Three things set the price:

  • Length. There are three to choose from: 18, 20–21 or 24 inches. Longer strands cost more, simply because there is more hair in them.
  • Weight. You choose from 50, 100, 120, 150 and 200 g. A lighter weight thickens the ends or adds volume at your own length; a heavier one gives you full, dense length.
  • Method. I work with two: keratin micro capsules and nano rings. The hair is included with both, and the choice depends on your hair type and lifestyle, which is exactly what we talk through at the consultation.

How many grams do you need? That is a question for the consultation, not the price list. It depends on the density and length of your own hair and the result you want to see in the mirror. You will find a few of those results in my before and after gallery, from thickened fine ends to shoulder-to-waist length.

How long the appointment takes

Fitting time is the same for both methods and grows with the weight:

  • 50 g — 1.5 hours
  • 100 g — 2.5 hours
  • 120 g — 3 hours
  • 150 g — 3.5 hours
  • 200 g — 4 hours

It is a one-chair studio, so for that whole time you are my only client. I work without rushing, because precision is what counts with capsules and rings.

Maintenance and removal are priced separately

Extensions grow out with your own hair, so after a while they need moving back up closer to the scalp. That is a separate service, priced without the hair, because I work with the strands you already have rather than fitting new ones. Maintenance is from £120 to £330: with keratin I handle 50–250 g and it takes 2 to 6 hours; with nano rings 100–200 g and 2 to 4 hours. How often? Usually anywhere from a few weeks to a few months, but we set the date at your appointment, based on how fast your hair grows.

Removal is the third item: from £50 to £80 for 100–200 g, taking 45 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes. It is worth knowing this up front, so the cost of wearing extensions through a whole season does not catch you out halfway.

How I quote

You get the exact figure after a short consultation in the studio, at the start of your visit. I look at your hair, ask about your colour history and tell you honestly what is achievable. Then I give you the price and the time before I start. The price can change depending on the result you are after, but we agree it before the work begins, not after. At the end I show you how to look after the hair at home so the result lasts as long as possible.

If you are thinking about extensions, have a look at the full price list and book a slot in the booking calendar. The consultation is simply a conversation about your hair. You are welcome at Hair Majesty in Bathgate, West Lothian.
